Interesting, isn’t it? Here’s an afterthought… (since I’m so sick of reading, seeing and hearing about it): why do we even have this desire to be instantly liked by someone we may or may not know?
Why would we want to seek validation? Is that because we feel insecure? Or perhaps it’s just imposter syndrome. Is it?
Here’s what I feel — stop giving a damn about being liked. If they don’t like you… it’s not the end of the world. I would just be myself and focus on deeply listening to the other person and simply adding value to the conversation.
The most basic fundamental of human communication is this — nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care (shoutout to Ted Roosevelt!). Beaming, leaning, smiling, strategic eye contact, exaggerated gestures are totally optional.
Stop being sold to lies. If making people like you were that easy… you shouldn’t even be reading this!
Remember: Just be yourself. Just do you!
